Course Overview

Our Home-Based Caregiving Courses are designed to equip aspiring caregivers with the essential skills, knowledge, and confidence to provide quality care in the comfort of a client's home. The program focuses on practical training combined with theoretical learning, ensuring caregivers are prepared to handle day-to-day care responsibilities, from personal assistance and mobility support to safety, nutrition, and emotional companionship. What You Will Learn

Our comprehensive curriculum is organised into five modules covering everything a professional home-based carer needs.

Course Structure

The course is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for aspiring caregivers. The Theory Component spans 6 weeks and is delivered online, covering essential caregiving knowledge. This is complemented by Practical Training, offering hands-on experience either at our Park Drive Facility or at a partnered old age home, allowing students to apply their skills in real-world care settings.

Candidate Requirements

• Criminal Clearance: Valid police clearance certificate.
• Identification: Certified copy of a valid ID document.
• Education: Grade 9–12 certificate or equivalent proof of qualification.
• Residence Verification: Proof of residence or a sworn affidavit confirming residence.

Certification

Candidates must pass a theory examination prior to commencing the practical component of the course. Upon successful completion of both the theory and practical components, a certification of completion will be issued.
