We believe understanding how care, services and training are paid for should be straightforward. Payment arrangements vary depending on the service you require, with most Big Heart Carers services being privately funded.
Home-Based Care & Caregiving
Our home-based care and caregiving services are privately funded and are arranged directly with the individual or their family.
Care can be arranged according to your loved one's needs, with the care plan and service requirements discussed with you before care begins.
Companionship
Companionship services are privately funded and are arranged directly with the individual or their family.
These services can provide practical and social support, helping older adults and individuals who may benefit from additional company and assistance in their daily lives.
Professional Nursing Services
Professional nursing services may be eligible for medical-aid funding where the patient's medical scheme and plan provide cover for the relevant service.
Through our affiliated nursing partner, medical-aid arrangements can be pursued with Bankmed, Bestmed, Libcare, Genesis and Polmed for patients who are members of qualifying plans and meet the applicable scheme requirements.
Medical-aid coverage is subject to the patient's individual benefits, scheme rules and any required authorisation. Where medical aid does not cover the service, or where the patient does not have qualifying benefits, nursing services can be arranged on a private-payment basis.

Caregiver Training Courses
Caregiver training courses are privately funded.
Course fees are payable over 3 months.
Further course-specific payment details will be provided when you enrol.
First Aid Courses
First aid courses are privately funded and are payable in full upfront when booking.
Private Payment
Where medical-aid funding is not applicable, services can be arranged on a private-payment basis.
We will explain the applicable service and payment arrangements before care or training begins, so you know what to expect.
